Bulk Green Beans

Snapped gree. Beans to freeze. Good.

Ordered a box last year but was slow to get them processed so ended up throwing away a lot of them; they also were rather tough, the ones I did keep. I learned my lesson so this year, I made sure to process them within a couple days of getting them, which resulted in much, much better quality! However, even within those few days before I got them processed, I could tell a significant decrease in quality, so tip for newbies: process them ASAP for the best quality!

1 bushel yields many quarts. I have second fridge so easy to store in 2 crispers and one large Rubbermaid container for 3 days.

Bought a case early August, and the majority had brown lines on them (like they were swept with a wire brush or something?). Many were also not crisp to snap, and some were very woody. After canning the blemishes can not be seen which is good, but they are still woody in texture when chewing, which we don't like. Not sure I'll buy them next year.

These were great! I froze them all for my diabetic dog! Would buy again
